Isabella Lee donates nutrition bars for the needed
News from this station: on October 21, Diamond Bar High School student and president of RAISE Humane Foundation Isabella Lee led a team of volunteers from the organization to Sylmar in North Los Angeles to participate in the “Children’s Hunger Bar” food donation event organized by the Children’s Hunger Fund Foundation. During the event, RAISE Humane Foundation, led by Isabella Lee, donated a total of 5,000 nutritional meal bars to help nourish underprivileged children, in turn preventing and combatting diseases.
In the summer of 2022, during the COVID-19 pandemic, Diamond Bar High School student Isabella Lee started a research project with a Harvard University professor. Their study, which involved examining research reports from around the world, found that vitamins have a significant effect in preventing and treating COVID-19. Isabella Lee and the Harvard professor co-authored an academic paper on this topic, which is scheduled to be published in a reputable academic journal and was highly recommended by peer reviewers.
Earlier this year, Isabella Lee got to know Dr. Jones Chan. Dr. Chan, a former senior executive in the research departments of Nestle and Pharmavite, had founded a non-profit organization, Thess Bar, with the mission to provide nutritional meal bars to children in impoverished communities, supplementing their daily dietary nutrition deficiencies. Isabella Lee was very fond of this nutritional bar donation initiative. Through her earlier research on COVID-19, she had come to appreciate the role of vitamins in preventing and combating diseases, which inspired her to join Dr. Jones Chan’s charitable project.
After nearly half a year of effort and fundraising by Isabella Lee’s RAISE Humane Foundation, they donated 5,000 nutritional bars to the renowned Los Angeles charity Children’s Hunger Fund (Home – Children’s Hunger Fund [childrenshungerfund.org]), benefiting 5,000 underprivileged children. Isabella Lee hopes to spread their message to the Asian community, encouraging more kind-hearted individuals to join this meaningful charity work, striving to improve the physical health of underprivileged children in the local community.
