The warehouses in the Pico Rivera are where the theft cases often occurred, the security situation is a matter of serious concern. On September 18 at 9:00 AM, Chen Jun, a warehouse worker of Uspeed Inc, a large logistics company (address: 479 Gregg Rd, Pico Rivera, CA 90660), went to the parking lot and found a 40 ft shipping container was missing. The security cameras showed the video taken on September 17 at 2:45 PM. In the video, one white Volvo truck was driving into the parking lot. When it drove to the front of the stolen container, two men came down to connect the container to the truck and towed it out of the parking lot. The thieves effortlessly stole the container that the company had kept for the customers. After the loss of the container, Uspeed Inc’s staff immediately reported to the Pico Rivera Sheriff’s Station. A police officer came and collected some evidence from the crime scene. The officer worked by procedure and he issued a police report of the theft case. He said he does not know when the case will be solved.

The business owner of Uspeed Inc said that he does not want to undertake such losses again, if the police delay in solving the case, he would consider moving his company out of the city. It has been a few days since the incident and the sheriff’s station has no reply. The police department treated this case with an inactive attitude, so Uspeed Inc and several other victimized companies will join together to complain about the Pico Rivera Sheriff’s Station to the government of Pico Rivera and Los Angeles County. Hopefully the police department can better protect the property and safety of the businesses in the local community, through improving the local security of Pico Rivera, and making it a better city for businesses and residents.
